We've been out in the rain this week carrying out topographic surveys - including this small one near Nottingham.
Our client has a project to finish off which includes an extension out onto sloping ground. They were asked by their architects to find a land surveyor near Nottingham who could prepare a topographic survey of the area. This was to show the change in levels from the existing house, across the area where planning permission for the extension has been granted.
A land surveyor from Topographical.co.uk in Nottingham attended site and measured up in a few hours. Setting up permanent control points to measure from, the finished floor levels and ridge and eave levels were recorded to tie the new designs into. A grid of levels over the soft detail allowed contour lines to be added to the topographic survey. Building lines, retaining walls and tops and bottoms of banks were also recorded.
After checking and processing the survey data into a digital terrain model, 2d and 3d cad drawings were made available the next working day. This should provide all the information required for the nottinghamshire based architect to complete the design and provide drawings for contractors to work to.
